One of the best experiences of Indies games that I have been able to experience, which I recommend to any gamer.BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition - An updated version of a casual 2D game with tons of obstacles and enemies. Badland is a platform game within the action and adventure genre, but without leaving behind its strategic part since in many parts of the game it requires thinking a bit before acting. One of its peculiarities is that it has a local multiplayer mode for up to 4 players (on the same device). After these awards several ports were made for different platforms such as PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Playstation TV, Wii U and Xbox One. Badland was the winning game as best game of the year for iOS devices in 2013 and also won the Grand Prix in the tenth edition of the International Mobile Gaming Awards, so it is not an indie game anyone, but we could say that this game is a of the best Indies games in history. It attracts a lot of attention for its playability, graphics, interactivity, physics and originality. Overall console version gets an 8/10, but is easily a 9/10 on phone/ tablet, etc. Cons: meant for on the go, made for wasting time. Pros: great variety of obstacles, challenge of collecting minions.

Saying all this, this game honestly is nothing but a time waster, something you play when you have nothing better to do, but it does it really well. Grabbing as many minions to the finish a long the way keeps thing fresh and pushes you to try to get them all, guiding a lot of them to the end is rewarding. Generous checkpoints ease the frustration a little bit, but the design of each level are pretty amazing, and the variety makes each level feel distinctively different in a good way. I've not read others reviews - but anyone scoring this under a 5 has no sense of fun! … Expand That said, it's an indie title (free with PS+ for me) but if it was £5 or so in a sale, I'd pay for this as it's still very entertaining. once you've completed the game, there's not much in it to want to revisit. The only reason I've not gone higher than 8 on this is it's not terribly re-playable. The later stages are more manic and with new mechanics introduced, it's gradually more and more funny as it gets more and more taxing.

You soon realise that in some parts, one must sacrifice yourself to ensure the other makes it through an obstacle, and you can work well as a team, which is essential for Coop play.

I put a few hours into Coop mode and it's harder, faster, and more rewarding. Where this game becomes much much more fun is to go CoOp or vs mode against a friend on the sofa. The levels are relatively short, but once you walk through the initial 15 levels, you soon realise that it's level length isn't the issue, it's the really taxing parts that come down to skill, and a little bit of luck (especially when you've duplicated your wee character into a dozen or more clones and most are getting sliced up or crushed by obstacles!) For what it is, this is a good little taxing game, pretty graphics and ease to control and master. It's art style isn't a million miles off, and the puzzle mix with platform is there, except you kind of float in badland. Whilst it's not by the same studio, the game has a real "Limbo" feel to it. To my surprise, it's been a very fun, addictive little game.
